Buckle your seatbelts, this story is a roller coaster.
The owner of this refrigeration company received a call from his lead technician one Monday morning asking if he was using the trailer.
Not using it, the owner quickly said no. He was then confronted with a harsh reality – his trailer was stolen from his yard.
In a hurry, the owner got to the office and opened his Rhino Fleet Tracking application which showed his tracker still locating, but 2 hours away.
Before alerting local authorities, they dig deeper into the story using Rhino’s application.
They found the trailer had been stolen from them after they left for the weekend on Friday.
The trailer spent the evening parked two blocks away, until Saturday afternoon when it started moving away.
By the evening, it had been stored just two hours outside of the city. Since it had stopped there. That’s where they went.
With our help, these men were confident they could find their trailer and get it back.
When they were minutes away from the trailer, they contacted local authorities – who were a little reluctant before the owner explained he’d go get the trailer himself.
Then…the sheriff showed up promptly to meet them at the address Rhino’s application told them.
There it was! Not even 5 feet from where it last located. The trailer only withstood minor damages.
Together, they confronted the person who stolen the trailer… only to find they had purchased and picked up the trailer from someone in the city on Saturday morning!
It was stolen and sold through Facebook Marketplace within a day. Wow.
With the sheriff’s help they were able to reclaim the trailer as well as get license information and a bill of sale from the people who had bought it.
Before the owner left, the man asked, “How’d you find your trailer?!”
To which he replied, “I’m not telling you!”
